MUSIC FESTIVAL CHIC

I’m writing this post at 12:56am when I should be packing for my own Music Festival trip to Coachella! Oy, what’s a girl to do… I’ve never been to one before. Any words of advice for looking “Music Festival Chic”?!

To be perfectly honest with you, I threw this outfit together in about 10 minutes. I think that’s standard protocol to achieve that whole hippie look, right? Besides for the fringe vest (which I’m packing in 2 colors by the way!), my favorite part of the outfit is the arm candy. These are Walmart bracelets that I’ve acquired over the past year and a half. I grabbed whatever I saw in front of me, slapped them on my wrists and voila! Sometimes to achieve that carefree boho look, you have to BE carefree about how you style it.

I have no idea what to expect this weekend, but I’m ready for the ride! I’ll be live tweeting and instagramming to my tumblr, so follow me to stay updated!

  2. I was wondering if you would consider posting some photos from the back – I am wondering how short some of these dresses are! I love your style and website, keep up the good work!

  3. Super cute. I love that dress!

I went to Coachella a few years ago. All I remember is that it was really HOT, as in sweaty hot. But it looks like the weather for you this year should be much better. Maybe pack an extra pair of sandals though in case the suede boots are too warm.

Music festival advice: If there’s a band you really want to see, show up at the stage before the previous band finishes. Then when they’re done, all those fans will clear out of the tent and you can have a front row view. Oh – and the vegetarian corn dogs are amazing.

    Have fun!

  4. What to wear to a music festival?? Around here we wear our bathing suits and lots of sunscreen and a big hat and sunglasses. (I go to Kaslo Jazz Fest, and Nakusp Music Festival – they are both on gorgeous lakesides, so you can swim and listen.)
In the evening, lots of bug dope and a warm sweater with closed toed shoes so you don’t trip going back to your tent in the dark.

Seriously, as sweet as it looks, the jewellery will only irritate you later in the day!

  5. Love the fringe vest!! I’ve been looking for something like that. Way cheaper than the one I wanted from Urban. Great find!!

  6. @Chelsea–Love the cowboy boot idea!

@Stacey–thanks for the compliment! the dress came up a little higher than the front of the dress

@Keisha–thanks! love the boho look too

@lindy mint–I took your advise about getting to the stage earlier and it SAVED me. You have to pick and choose wisely which shows you want to see because it’s not easy to see everything

@Liana–Sounds like music festivals near you are a little more laid back! good point about the jewelry :)

@Maria Martinez–thank you so much! Glad you like it :)

@Kim–I use this “hair donut” under it that’s like a sponge to make it look fuller. Glad you like it :)

    @Jessie–Yeah the vest is great!
