Hi Pennies! Erin from team Penny Chic here.
The other day when I was doing research on how to wash leggings, I noticed that people LOVE Danskin leggings. I’m always on the hunt for good (and cheap!) workout pants, so I picked up a pair of Danskin Now Women’s Capri Leggings at Wal Mart yesterday and couldn’t wait to try them out while playing in my Wednesday night dodgeball league (yes, I’m 26 and in a dodgeball league. Don’t knock it ’til you try it.) The Wal Mart I visited only had the pants in a size XS, and I usually wear a small or medium, but I REALLY wanted them, so I ignored the size and went for it.
The capris were cropped and hit JUST under my knee. I normally like my workout pants to be mid-calf length, but they probably would have been the right length on someone who’s actually a size XS.
In addition to having a secret inside pocket for a key or ID, they had a drawstring I could have tied for extra waistband security (read: muffin-top resistance), and probably would have, if I were wearing a size that was actually supposed to fit me. Plus, there was a nice line of contrasting piping on the outside of the waistband. Those little details always win me over.
I liked that the material felt sturdy and moved with me the whole night. Never constrictive, but I always knew the pants were sturdily in place. They’re made with something called “Dri More technology,” and although I’m usually skeptical of those futuristic types of terms, my legs didn’t feel sweaty all night so I guess the Dri More did its job.
The pants come in a few different colors, but mine are in a fun gray tie-dye print and people complimented them all night. When I told people the pants were from Wal Mart and less than $12, they were literally in shock and said they would have believed me if I’d told them my pants were from (the super-expensive) Lululemon. All in all, a success!
