I don’t know WHAT has gotten into me lately with all the florals I’ve been styling with but I guess you could say I’m ready for spirit! A reader wrote in to ask ¬†how to pull off a flower print at work and here’s an example modeled by my friend Emily that shows how it can be done in a totally professional way!

The key is making sure the flower print is elegant and subdued, instead of something like this. This particular one from H&M almost looks like a realist painting. It has an elegant, classic look to it and yet there’s still COLOR thank the lord!

A pencil skirt is a great piece to get in a ¬†floral print because it’s less material than pants (which somehow makes it less intense) AND yet it’s still more of a statement than a top would be.

Midi length floral skirts are very trendy right now, but most people are wearing these skirts to go out in. What do you think of the trend for work?

  1. You’re floral styles are really starting to turn me into a convert. I haven’t worn anything floral print since my grunge days of the early 90′s-LOL! I could rock a floral loose flowy dress w/a black leather jacket, tights and combat boots w/the best of ‘em. But now, I’m really intrigued with how you incorate floral prints with sophisticated and somewhat edgy fitted jackets and accessories. Keep up the great styling!
