Blogger and style expert Sazan Barzani is a girl after my own heart! Not only are we Middle Eastern soul sisters (She’s Kurdish, and I’m half-Persian if you recall), but she believes in the Penny Chic philosophy of making the best out of what’s around you and more importantly, “owning it” when you walk out of that door.

In this outfit post, we used my favorite work top for fall (also featured in my Glamour series) and paired it with printed skinny pants from H&M, a watch from Walmart, and a vintage wool boyfriend blazer I found at a thrift store. This is what it means to MAKE IT WORK! Doesn’t she look fab? I loved the look so much that I used it in a feature I wrote on

Do you ever shop vintage for work staples?

  1. Yes indeed! I shop at Goodwill for blazers, purses, jeans, slacks and coats, combined with brands from Walmart I trust, George work wear and Timex for watches. FWIT: wish the whole Middle East could be soul sisters!!
