What woman doesn’t want to find the best jean for her body type? It’s one of the most discussed topics in fashion, yet there are still so many misconceptions about how to get it right. In today’s post, I’m going to break it down for you using two brands from the Levi Strauss & Co. family, deNiZEN® (sold at Target) and Signature by Levi Strauss and Co. (sold at Walmart).  Seems “fitting” to use the company that made the first ever blue jean in the history of the world!

When it comes to finding the best fit, it all comes down to three styles:

If you’re body is on the tall and slender side, opt for a skinny cut like this deNiZEN Pull On Skinny Jean. Contrary to popular belief, skinny jeans won’t make your legs appear longer than they are, but they will show off your long and lean bod. Now that’s not the worst thing in the world, is it ladies?

As you can see, I’m modeling this look! When it comes to denim, I always choose a bootcut jean like these deNiZEN Essential Stretch Bootcut Jeans. My legs are on the shorter side and my hips are on the wider side, so the combo of a semi-flared jean with a very high platform does the job of making my legs appear longer, while simultaneously giving my hips a slimmer appearance.

For those curvy plus-size ladies out there, it’s all about finding a brand that is specifically designed for your curvy shape. These Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. Curvy Bootcut Jeans (learn how to win them below!) are the perfect example of this kind of jean. They’re not too loose and not too tight. They have a good amount of stretch in the denim, and last but not least, they’re high-waisted, which flatter your mid section!

  1. I love Levi’s! They have been my “go to” jeans for years! I would style my jeans based on my signature look which is jeans, black leather ankle booties, a bright colored tee shirt, a black blazer and a printed (most likely leopard) scarf!

  2. I recently thrifted a teal velvet blazer for $10, an a ruffled blue green floral blouse for $2 that would work perfectly with these jeans for a more casual fall look. I have black pointy booties that would complete this look nicely.

For a weekend look, a nice mock turtleneck in brown (gift from my sis) and my thrifted Free People quilted vest with beige booties will be awesome.

  7. Now that’s is getting cold out, I would style my Signature by Levi Strauss & Co. Curvy’s with knee-high cognac boots, a fitted black sweater and a loose gold necklace. I love the contrast of gold accessories on black, and with the slimming of the black and flattering cut of these jeans, it would accentuate my figure! (And no one will know how many holiday treats I’m sneaking! ;-)

  14. My best friend taught me an invaluable and easy outfit formula in college. Take a well-fitting pair of jeans like these Levis, pair it with a comfy shirt (I like the Apt.9 t-shirts from Kohl’s, but she steals a shirt from her fiance’s closet), and add a bold scarf or a statement necklace. Even if I just got out of bed, if I come to brunch like that, I don’t look like a slob. I like to wear dark Jeans, a gray shirt, and a necklace in a loud color.

  15. I would style my dark wash curvy jeans with a striped shirt, and a green military inspired jacket. Lots of bronze jewelery, a cute pair of brown/tan/congac colored booties. Oh, and I cannot foget my brown/tan/congac purse and Iced Caramel lipstick.

This is vaguely speaking of course, lol!

Would complete the look by wearing high heeled black booties and Zara Clutch. Oh and rose gold watch and earrings along with this statement Aldo ring would add an oomph to the whole look! Add a pair of peep toe neutral wedges and some bangles, hair pinned up and youve got an outfit that can be worn to the office. Then for drinks after work, let your hair down and add a dark lip gloss AND your good to go!!!

  31. Well, I’m definitely curvy! I’d wear my Levi’s Curvy (finally they have curvy, tried many of their styles for years w/o success!) with my hot pink v-neck sweater from Old Navy and this super cute scarf I got at a flea market in Madrid. I picked up these dangling earrings at Nordstrom BP, so those in my ears and my hot pink Jessica Simpson flats from Marshalls on my feet. I’m ready for lunch with my friend Rosa or a shopping with my daughter!
