You may remember Marissa (and her fabulous hair) from the Sequins and Chambray look we posted last week. Marissa is still in school and doesn’t have a 9-to-5 office job, but I wanted to style her in a Workwear Wednesday look because I knew she could rock basically any type of outfit. (Full disclosure, this might have something to do with her superb hair and makeup skills, so check out her YouTube channel for beauty tips and tricks.)
It’s been a little while since the last Workwear Wednesday, and I loved styling Marissa in this edgy (but still totally professional) ensemble because it reminded me that work outfits can be just as fun to style as weekend looks!
I drew attention to Marissa’s tiny waist with this coral red belt. The belt draws the eye with a pop of color, and contrasts nicely with the army green shirt.
Drape skirts are super on-trend right now, and I like this one from Target because it’s long enough to be office-appropriate, but still has some personality. Its shape works with the tucked-in shirt and bright belt, allowing the waist to stay the focal point of the look.
We finished the outfit with a mixed-media motorcycle jacket to add a little bit of edge. Leather detailing is super “in” right now, and transitions an outfit into happy hour seamlessly, without being overly “rock and roll” for the office.
So tell us: would this outfit work in YOUR office? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
