At this point in the game, I think it’s fair to call myself a Walmart expert, wouldn’t you agree? Don’t worry, I won’t bore you with my research report (for now), but I will tell you about a Walmart line that’s truly making a difference in women’s lives. Just My Size is a plus-size label that provides curvier women with fashion options that are comfortable, well-fitting, and affordable. There is nothing worse than going shopping and feeling like nothing fits right on your body. The mission behind JMS is for that never to happen to a woman just because she has a larger frame. Amen!
Instead of just posting images of the giveaway items, I wanted to really show you how these summer essential pieces can be worn and brought to life. Kate is no stranger to Penny Chic and was excited to model the outfit loud and proud, as she should be. Originally I had a couple of options to style with, but I went with the two brightest JMS items and paired them together. Color blocking is still in and hopefully it will be here to stay for a long time! Kate was excited to find that everything fit like a glove and was super comfortable and easy to wear. She was even more excited when I handed her a two pack of hip shorts that JMS had sent me. The underwear looks like it came from Victoria’s Secret, except it costs $9.99 and you don’t have to be Heidi Klum to wear it!
I’m sure you’re anxious to hear about the giveaway, so here are the details: 3 winners will each receive a tank, capri shorts, and a pair of undies in any size between 1x-4x. We can’t guarantee that you’ll get the items in the same color/style combo as the photo, but we’ll try our best!
What you have to do to qualify*:
1. Become a Facebook fan of Penny Chic and Just My Size
2. Tell us in the comment box what makes you most proud about being a curvy woman

I have been curvy since I was a little girl, but didn’t come to appreciate my curves until my late 20s. That is when I realized my life and story is wrapped in my curves. From the curves I inherited from my beautiful mother to my curves that hint at the food associated with my rich culture, I am not only proud of my curves, but I am proud of their narrative and the connection they provide me to all of many curvy woman who I admire and love.
I have been curvy all my life, it has made me a strong and wonderful woman and made me realize that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes!!
Great photos, Shauna!
My curves make me feel feminine and sexy. I think it has also helped me build character and become a better person. In an age where “beauty” is so often defined by numbers, whether it’s the number on the tag of your jeans or the number on the scale, going against the grain and realizing you are beautiful even when society says the numbers should tell you otherwise, is a great feeling and instills a confidence that makes you radiate with beauty around every curve!
I think what I love most about being a curvy woman is it fits my personality. There is a challenge to be creative in getting dressed, and I love a challenge! It also fits the part of my personality that always strives to be unique. There are only a handful of curvy women who embrace who they are and celebrate it, and I’m proud to be one of them.
(PS, I am fanned, obviously)
It’s taken me a long time to get to this point but I finally feel whole being in my body. There’s something so beautiful about being able to touch myself and feel something soft and look in the mirror to see these wondrous contours in my shape. It’s not for everyone, but let’s just say my man agrees
I am a big girl. I will never be a size 4 or a size 6 and I am ok with that. When I was in high school I felt out of place because of my size. I let it hinder my personality and I missed a lot of opportunities. I wasted so much time worrying what other people thought and it wasn’t until college that I learned to embrace my curves.
I think once you begin to love yourself, that confidence shines through and other people see it, feel it, and want to be a part of it. Sometimes I feel like shouting, “I am curvy! Hear me ROAR!!” Lol. But that is really how I feel. I think you should be proud of your body no matter your size, shape, color, etc. EVERYONE is unique. That is what does it for me. I am my own person and I am going to OWN that.
fierce!!! i love it! it doesnt matter the size, own it! be confident!
It’s so awesome that you’re featuring affordable options for women who are more curvy than others!! Thanks for including this post in your blog, skinnier women are beautiful too but we don’t see enough curvy women in the fashion world and it’s really empowering to read you encouraging words that curvy women should be proud of the way you look. You’re awesome!
As long as you’re healthy, there’s nothing wrong with having curves! I’d so much rather have curves and a womanly shape than be stick thin! Just look at all Art for centuries and centuries, it was considered beautiful for a woman to have meat on her bones!
i am woman, curves and all, watch me strut my stuff!
She is really really really pretty.
I really like her hair, too!
I’m 5’10 and curvy! It’s taken me a long time to become comfortable with my body, but I can finally say that I have and it feels great. Over the years, some folks have called me “big boned”, some have called me “voluptuous”, and while those are all great by me, I’ve taken to just calling myself “beautiful.”
I’m a Facebook fan of both pages.
Love being curvy? You betcha! I’ve been both sides of the scale and I can honestly say I like the way I look with more meat on my bones. My face isn’t so drawn and worrying about what I eat all the time was driving me insane. I feel comfortable in my own body now and I stopped buying clothes as camouflage and instead buy for maximum impact!
I don’t always label myself as curvy, I just like being me
Embracing the curves isn’t easy. I’d be lying if I said I woke every morning and said woohooo let’s try and get in some skinny jeans, but at the end of the day, I feel good knowing that my body is at the place it should be. For me NOT to be curvy would mean I would have to starve myself. I’ll take curvy over that any day!
I have always been curvy, but not plus sized..I had twins 10 years ago, and was able to lose most of the weight and stay in the non plus size section.lol. But, a few years ago I found out I have crohn’s disease, had to start taking medicines for that and my body just changed. Now, some of it is due to my activity level, because with the Crohn’s you sometimes cannot be as active as you’d like. Starting this January I made a promise to myself and my kids to get healthy, and so far I have lost 20 lbs. I am a different person now. More confident, healthier, and most importantly, a better mother to my children. I am still a curvy girl, and very proud of it..but I am an active and happier woman! I don’t really care what the scale says, as long as I can go out with confidence and a smile. I am proud to wear cute clothes, no matter what size they are!! Thank you for this giveaway!!

Curvy girls make the best burlesque dancers!
Congrats to our winners: Daria, Hannah and Whittney!!!! We love how you embrace your curves! Your answers were inspiring and we hope you enjoy your goodies this summer! xoxo
Congrats to the winners
I am a size 18 and damn proud, but I really dislike that plus size fashion is all bright colored items WITHOUT fun details and then there is the animal print. Oh the animal prints that are all over plus sized clothing really make me want to question clothing retailers and I wonder why the plus size girls get all the animal print clothes….
Plus size fashion is growing all the time but none of it seems to appeal to me. I have also noticed that trends trickle down with plus sized clothing. Why is that? When a trend gets started I see it all over the place for the normal sizes and then 2-5 months later in plus sizes.
