GRUNGY SCHOOL GIRL CHIC
Remember the 90s when looking grungy was cool? As much as I am a girly girl, I’ve always had a soft spot for 90s grunge. I admire people who can pull off the sloppy look and make it look cool. That’s what we were going for with this outfit. I didn’t want to totally bore you with a pair of plain blue jeans so we added some spice to the style by using red skinny jeans.
Were any of you 90s grunge dressers back in the day?

Oh, man, grunge was my uniform! Doc Martens, a Hanes white v-neck shirt with an old man v-neck sweater and either a plaid skirt or old levi’s from the salvation army (back when you could actually find good, old jeans for around $5-10 a pair).
You’ve put together a very cute and trendy outfit on a budget…kudos. Did you know that Walmart is committed to organic cotton now? So you can feel good about that grey t-shirt.
The boots take me back to the late 80′s. I wore them until my Mother said “ENOUGH with the BOOTS!” I wore them to school, around the house, to walk the dog, to church with a dress, I wore them everywhere.
Real grunge dressers would never have worn bright colors, ever. We were apathetic, and those clothes we wore reflected that. You would roll out of bed and grabbed whatever that was on the floor. If the girls wanted to dress up, babydoll dresses were the thing. It’s a nice look, but far from 90′s grunge.
