RUNWAY-INSPIRED: CROP TOPS

Mercedes-Benz Spring 2013 Fashion Week started off strong with lots of skin, specifically the midriff, making it’s way down the runways. Designers from across all style spectrums, including Peter Som (recreated here), Rebecca Minkoff and Jason Wu, featured crop tops as a main component of their Spring collections.  I was inspired to recreate what I saw, only find it for less so that we too could get access to such fun fashion for the spring! For the last 48 hours, I’ve searched high and low all over Manhattan for the best look for less interpretation of this trend. It wasn’t easy considering Fall fashion is on it’s way in…but it did help me snag some good deals! For the crop top, I found a cheap floral tank from Forever21 and snipped it to a crop top length. It took me literally 1 minute. No needle and thread required! The skirt was a diamond in the rough that I spotted at Kmart from the Jaclyn Smith collection. The mixed floral prints add some funkiness to the ensemble that embodies my personal style. It’s great to reinvent high fashion looks, but always try to integrate your own style into the mix.

Shout out to Jesse Dittmar for the amazing photography!!

  1. Wow! It looks fabulous. You did a great job.
I have to say, reality is, that you look better than the model, your outfit is nicer, you walked better and you have a killer smile too. You killed it!
As you always say, it’s about feeling confident and owning it, well, you did! Congratulations!
