FUNKY WINTER CHIC

Sometimes it’s liberating to just break all the rules and go for it! It’s Winter anyway (no one is looking that amazing in their puffy jacket) so why not go crazy and be creative in how you express yourself?! I know you will probably have a lot to say about this outfit because it’s unconventional, but I happen to think it’s FUN and I know it was comfortable for Mimi, who graciously modeled for me on New Years day, after our crazy night out on the town in Park City, Utah!

  1. Very cute! I love the skirt! And I love your website – just discovered it a few days ago and have now read EVERY post. Unfortunately we don’t have Walmart in New Zealand, or Target for that matter. But the inspiration is still there, so thanks!

  2. Just love this! What a fun outfit – funky is the perfect word. I love your use of colors and patterns…while still being warm! As a teacher, I’d love to wear this to school (if the skirt was longer!)…and switching the socks out with some colored leggings or tights. Thanks for this!

  3. Minus the boots, puffy jacket, and socks and this outfit would be fine. I just can’t seem to picture myself wearing something like this. (I guess I am just too minimalist)

  4. my fave rule to break is wearing blue with black or brown with black! I love those combos and don’t care if it’s a faux pas.

  6. I love the sweater-on-sweater look! I didn’t know they made sweater skirts, ha! Although, I’m not a huge fan of the bright purple socks…I would probably do something like red that contrasts with the blues or a neutral.

  9. I actually think this outfit looks great together. Puffer jackets are super stylish and it’s in a teal color which is also on trend. I love the rest of the outfit and think it looks perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing. The picture caption fits the outfit perfectly.

  12. Great look for a funky mountain ski city! I love sweater dresses and skirts (coming from Canada, that’s almost a given in winter) although I like to wear coloured tights with mine. Cute boots and puffer jacket too.

  13. I thank everyone for their comments on this post. There was a reader by the name of “Anonymous Despiser” who felt the need to write some irrelevant nasty things on the past couple of posts. I have removed the comments as they had nothing to do with the outfits or the blog. Thank you to those who stood up and said something! XOXO

  14. Very nice look, I like the styling on this. I would love to see you do some thing with Burlington Coat Factory too! I miss the drama from the negative commenter but we have all had to deal with that out in blogosphere. Soon as they show up on my blog, they are deleted. Never see the light of day. I don’t have time for the foolishness! Good for you Shauna for deleting them. Trolls never die.

I love what you do, and this blog is one of my favorites, so please keep up the great work!
