Penny Chic

I’m feeling pretty guilty that I didn’t post once this weekend. I usually post on Sunday afternoons (depending on how severe Saturday night was!), but this time I just couldn’t get it together. I got sucked into the weekend and you’ll see why when I explain how perfect it was:

Friday night
Big yummy dinner at a relative’s house where we didn’t eat until 10pm, then I rushed off to a 90s themed party to meet Penny model, Jessica. Everyone was wearing ripped jeans and plaid shirts tied around their waists. I miss the 90s…
Saturday
Had a lovely day with my mom and sister which included brunch and manicures
Took out sushi with Penny model Hilary and watched Oprah’s final episode on TiVo. Not the best thing to watch right before you’re planning on getting all decked out and going to a bar. We went anyway and had fun.
Sunday
Took my lovely cousins to the beach with my brother. Made a sand castle, napped under the overcast sun, and ate fish tacos.
Went to my dear friend/penny model’s goodbye party before she moves to NYC (See: Grad School Chic)
Had a family dinner in our backyard and then watched the new episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Perfect end to the weekend.

What did you guys do?

A couple things to note about this outfit:
1. The shirt was well ironed which is a great tip when you’re trying to make something look more expensive than it actually is
2. The shorts are not meant to necessarily be worn high waisted but we chose a size that could fit a little higher and still button
3. Tucking in the shirt into the shorts creates a sleeker and more flattering look
4. Folding up the bottom of the shorts frames the outfit because of the white on the inside which matches with the shirt
