FIERCE CHIC!
I love the look of wearing a men’s button down shirt with rolled up jeans, heels and jewels. It’s like two separate worlds colliding into one. The end result=FIERCE. Next time you’re wearing leopard, try wearing some white with it (instead of black). It’s easy on the eyes and makes the outfit look more fresh!
Speaking of fierce, I saw The Hunger Games last night without reading the book and I’m OBSESSED! Jennifer Lawrence is the perfect symbol of bravery. The only issue I had was the amount of violence it had for a PG-13 movie! Anyone else see it? What were your thoughts?

LOVE those pants!!
I am almost done reading the third book in the trilogy and my thoughts on it are …….what twisted mind thought up this premise for a kids book!! Pitting children against children in a fight to the death? My parents sat next to an 8th grader on a plane this weekend and they were asking her if she saw the movie and when she said she hadnt seen it yet but she was looking forward to watching it they asked her why she wanted to see a movie with that plot, she thought for a minute and looked at them a little sheepishly and said, quite honestly, I guess that we just like violence. That, to me, is a sad commentary for us as a country. This was a young lady who was on her way to DC for a school trip and was very knowledgable about history and politics and other adult topics……and she was willing to admit that kids just like violence….
On the outfit…..Ilike the choice of white with the printed pants. I saw them in Target and liked them but didnt get them….I may think about picking them up now that i saw this outfit!
Love the pumps & KK necklace. On the Hunger Games, I just bought the book but haven’t started it. I’m waiting for the crowds to die down before I venture out to see the movie. I’ve heard good things about it & the violence is pretty much like the Mythology stories, that I loved as a kid. I keep hearing that Katniss is the Anti-Bella from the Twilight movies and that really interests me. Loved the Twilight books but Bella was a little wimpy for me.
I like the contrast of the white shirt w/the leopard print jeans. It’s a good departure from the typical black. It does make it look fresh and softens the look up. I may have to try this w/my animal print clothes/accessories.
As for Hunger Games, I too plan to see the movie but am waiting for the crowds to die down. I read all the books and enjoyed them but they just get more violent and disturbing as they go; esp. the 3rd book. I have a hard time understanding why they are considered kids’ books. High school level is ok but junior high and below is too young in my opinion. They are too graphic for kids to be reading IMHO.
The problem with this website is that I see to many things that I end up wanting! I must have those leopard pants!
I love the accessories and how the shirt is styled!
I haven’t seen Hunger Games, but I want to. I have heard great things about the book and the movie. I definitely plan on checking out the books since it’s about time that I find a new series to read. I am a little apprehensive to watch the movie before seeing the book though. I am afraid it is going to ruin the book for me!
How cool and chic!!
@Veronica – Glad you like the outfit! And yes that is a scary thing.
@ Annebeth – Yes, the nude pumps are great! The movie theater was definitely crowded when I went to see it. Probably a good idea to wait it out a little. LOL
@Jen – Glad you like it! And yes, I think that is a big debate right now about what the rating level for the Hunger Games should have been.
@Allie – LOL thats a good thing right?!
@Shanice – Thanks!! I’m still going to try to read the books even though I’ve seen the first movie already. I’ve heard great things.
I love the men’s oxford! How do you work the fit? I have a large chest and love buying men’s shirts, but to fit my chest, the rest of the shirt is so big. Another question, do you have any tricks for making cheaper shoes more comfortable…ie inserts, stretching? As much as I love finding great looking shoes at Target, WalMart & Kmart, I can’t wear them.
As for the Hunger Games, the books are meant to be for young adults. The themes in the books are real and applicable to life unlike the Twilight series which is based on the supernatural. I could go on ad nauseum about the HG themes but you saw the movie. I’m a mom of two boys, 8 &6, and we watch our fare share of “violent” PG-13 movies, but one of our prerequisites is real vs impossible. And we have our boys in karate which is teaching them discipline, appropriate use of abilities and that fighting is the last possible option.
It is sad that @Veronica’s interaction with one of our youth was a prime example of so many kids “just liking violence”.

***I’m stepping off my soapbox now
@ Kristin. There are some shoe inserts I found at the Dollar Tree, that are a thin dense foam and can be cut to size. I had a pair of shoes that I could NEVER wear because they hurt my feet too much but I tried these inserts, which were only $1 and I wear the shoes all the time now. They are not the odor inserts; they are the ones that come in a hard plastic package, that you have use scissors to open. I hope you can find them & give it a try.
The reason it’s so violent is that it’s almost an exact replica of Battle Royale. The author claims to have never seen it, but once you’ve seen Battle Royale, it’s hard to think she didn’t rip it. I sitll love Hunger Games though.
Great look it has a nice subtle rocker look to it, the white shirt and necklace gives it a classy look.
Nice look . I guess that we just like violence. That, to me, is a sad commentary for us as a country.
