MILITARY CHIC (AS SEEN ON GLAMOUR.COM)
My 5th “runway for less” outfit for Glamour was inspired by the Military for Evening trend dawned on the Fall Fashion Week runways (see below examples from Bill Blass, Jason Wu, and Victoria Beckham). Glamour only gave me 24 hours to find the look, but I honestly don’t think more time would have changed the outcome. The Forever21 button dress saved the day. In order to make it more Fall appropriate, I put a long sleeve $3 shirt underneath which looks like it’s connected to the dress. The whole outfit head-to-toe is $60, which is probably the same cost as one of the designer buttons! Check out the full article here on Glamour.com.

the bill blass and jason wu looks are very very similar – 4 pockets, shiny buttons, epaulets…. who copied who? anyway, i like your take on it.
I think you did a really nice job w/this; particularily the blue and black combo. They look very sophisticated together. And $3 for a scoop neck shirt is a major score. I think the outfit would also look good w/black riding style boots; something clean, sleek and slightly masculine.
Lady, you look amazing. Love the cut and color of that dress!
@Lil–I guess all those designers thought if it at the same time! Glad to hear you like my take
@Jen–Good idea about the riding boots!
@BudgetChic–Coming from you means a lot! xoxo
